STORIA
1880 Mosè Vaj, fonde la propria attività di tappezziere per arredamenti e teatri con una società specializzata in addobbi e apparati per cerimonie.
1916 WAY risulta tra le prime ditte individuali ad essere inscritta alla Camera di Commercio di Milano. Per distinguere la società dalla famiglia si sceglie la ragione sociale WAY, un tocco di internazionalità in un epoca non ancora globale.

1925 Virginio Vaj subentra al padre , sviluppa l’attività avviata e integra la produzione investendo nella falegnameria, nella carpenteria metallica leggera, nell’illuminotecnica e nella decorazione pittorica. È presidente dell’associazione tappezzieri italiana. Inizia l’attività di allestimento stand alla Fiera di Milano che nelle prime edizioni si svolgeva all’aperto in Porta Venezia.

1948 Costruisce una nuova sede di 5.000 mq in via M. Bruto a Milano. Continua l’attività per tutti gli anni 50 e 60 soprattutto in allestimenti all’interno della storica sede di Fiera Milano in piazza Giulio Cesare. Way è stata fornitore ufficiale di Ente Fiera Milano dagli inizi del 1960 alla fine dei ‘90. All’attività di allestimento e arredamento su progetto si affianca quella di noleggio di arredi.

1958 Entra in azienda Pierpaolo Vaj che affiancherà il padre fino alla sua scomparsa nel 1974. Con Pierpaolo la società subirà una forte crescita dimensionale che renderà necessario ampliare gli investimenti in nuovi depositi alle porte di Milano.

1980 Nel 1980 WAY ditta individuale, diventa WAY spa, Presidente Pierpaolo, con una configurazione societaria sempre legata alla famiglia Vaj e con una struttura che non verrà mai modificata.
1985 - 2009 Pierpaolo Vaj è presidente dell'ASAL e porta il numero di inscritti da poche unità a circa 300 membri. Nel 1998 è il fautore dell’ingresso di ASAL in FederlegnoArredo.
1994 Entrano in società Massimiliano che affianca Pierpaolo con la carica di amministratore delegato e Giorgia che oltre alla carica di consigliere del C.d.A. diventa responsabile dell’ufficio produzione e sviluppo tecnico.

2005 Viene inaugurata la sede di Rho. Estesa su 25.000 mq, con 15.000 mq di uffici, produzione e depositi, il nuovo sito dista 2 minuti dalla nuova Fiera di Milano-Rho e 3 km dal sito della futura EXPO Universale del 2015.

1880 Mosè Vaj merged his own business of upholstery for furnishing and theatres with a company specialised in decorations and ornaments for ceremonies.
1916 WAY was one of the first sole-proprietor companies registered at the Chamber of Commerce of Milan. In order to distinguish the company from the family, the company was called WAY: a touch of internationalisation in an era not yet global.

1925 Virginio Vaj took over from his father, developed the business and integrated production by investing in joinery, light metal structural work, illuminating technique and pictorial decoration. He was the president of the Italian upholsterers' association. He started the stand setup at the Milan trade fair that was initially held outdoors at Porta Venezia.

1948 He built the new offices of 5,000 sq.m. in via M. Bruto in Milan. He carried on this business throughout the fifties and sixties especially the setup within the historical premises of the Milan trade fair in piazza Giulio Cesare. Way was the official supplier of Ente Fiera Milano (Milan Trade Fair Body) from the beginning of the sixties to the end of the nineties. The activity of setting-up and furnishing according to design was accompanied by furniture rental.

1958 Pierpaolo Vaj joined the company and worked alongside his father until his death in 1974. With Pierpaolo, the company underwent a strong growth in size that made it necessary to increase investments in new warehouses at the outskirts of Milan.

1980 In 1980, Way sole-proprietor company became WAY spa, with Pierpaolo acting as President, with a company configuration always related to the Vaj family and with a structure that will never change.
1985 - 2009 Pierpaolo Vaj was president of ASAL and increased the number of members from a few to about 300. In 1998, he was the promoter of ASAL's joining FederlegnoArredo.
1994 Massimiliano and Giorgia joined the company: the former, by collaborating with Pierpaolo as managing director, and the latter, as director of the BoD and manager of the production and technical development department.

2005 The Rho office was opened. Extending over 25,000 sq.m., with offices, production and warehouses of 15,000 sq.m., the new site was only 2 minutes from the new Milan-Rho trade fair and 3 km from the site of the future Universal EXPO of 2015.
